Digital Certificate for Individuals

(Certificado Digital de Persona Física)

The FNMT Digital Certificate for an Individual is the electronic certification issued by the FNMT-RCM that links the subscriber with Signature Verification Data and confirms their identity. This certificate, also known as the Citizen or User Certificate, is a digital document that contains your identifying data.

It will allow you to identify yourself on the Internet and exchange information with other people and organizations with the guarantee that only you and your interlocutor can access.

Who can obtain a Digital Certificate for Individuals?

Any Spanish citizen or foreigner in possession of NIE, may request and obtain a digital certificate for free to sign and prove their identity securely on the Internet.

How can I get the Certificate?

There are 3 different ways to obtain your Digital Certificate for an Individual:

1.       As a downloadable file on your computer.

2.       As a downloadable file on your Android device.

3.       Using your DNIe.

What is it for?

The Digital Certificate for an Individual will allow you to carry out procedures securely with the Public Administration and Private Entities through the Internet, such as:

·         Presentation and liquidation of taxes

·         Submission of appeals and claims

·         Filling in population and housing census data

·         Consultation and registration in the municipal register (Padron)

·         Consultation of traffic fines

·         Consultation and procedures for grant applications

·         Polling station assignment query

·         Reported actions Electronic signature of documents and official forms.

How to Get the Software Certificate

You must carry out this procedure on the computer where you wish to download the digital certificate.

The process of obtaining the Software Certificate (as a downloadable file) is divided into four steps that must be carried out in the order indicated:

1 Previous considerations and browser configuration.

To avoid problems when requesting/downloading the certificate, please click the link on the page to configure your chosen browser.

2 Online application of your Certificate.

Click the Obtener Certificado Softeware link.

Click Solicitud vía internet de su Certificado to fill in your details:

·         NIE

·         First surname

·         Email address

Click the Enviar Peticion button.

At the end of the application process, you will receive a Request Code by email that will be required at the time of confirming your identity and later when downloading your certificate.

3 Accreditation of identity in a Registration Office.

Once steps 1 and 2 are completed and you are in possession of your Application Code, to continue with the process you must confirm your Identity by taking your original and copies of your passport and NIE, along with your access code, to one of our Registration Offices.  For your convenience, you can do this at Albox Town Hall.

4 Downloading your User Certificate.

Approximately one hour after you have confirmed your identity in a Registration Office and using your Request Code, you can download and install your certificate on your computer.
